Nestled in the center of the Santa Ynez Valley, just east of the Santa Rita Hills and at the southwestern reaches of the exclusive Ballard Canyon AVA, a nationally recognized viticultural area of only 7,800 acres within the Santa Ynez Valley AVA, there lies a little slice of heaven.
It's a place of significant diurnal shifts, where morning fog rolls in from the ocean and retreats as the warm sun drenches the mountain landscape, bringing forth fruit unique to its terroir. The signature "thumbprint" at J+K Vineyard is unparalleled within the appellation - a terraced planting pouring down the tallest peak at the vineyard, encircling the mountain and wrapping steeply planted rows of Syrah that rise from the base of the hillside from an elevation under 600' all the way up to 722' at the peak - a planting style as evocative of hillside vineyards in the Côtes du Rhône as the varietals that grace the landscape. J+K Vineyard continues in the legacy of their predecessor, Jorian Hill, using organic and sustainable farming practices.

Our "fingerprint" planting is 50 rows on just under 2 acres of 877 Syrah vines on 1103P rootstock utilizing a VSP trellis system.

Our Block 3A Viognier is an Alban clone on 1103P rootstock. The 18 rows in Block 9's half-acre are planted in a Geneva Double Curtain.
